Word from our visitors: The Corn Maze rocks!“That was wicked fun. Can we do it again?” This shot of the maze was taken back in August. Since then, the corn is much
taller and all the paths have been cut through the rows. Look at I-64 to the right of the maze... you can see just how big
a project this was to undertake. The letters that say "Carter County" are 40 feet tall! The
first weekend of the corn maze was met with beautiful weather and nearly 280 visitors! The neat thing was how many famililes
enjoyed the challenge and the atmosphere at the fairgrounds. Lots of folk enjoyed the hayrides and the cornhole sets. The
Hay Bale Mountain was a big hit with the younger crowd -- some of which made Mom and Dad bring them back both days to play! The
first night maze explorers saw just what we mean when we say the experience is TOTALLY DIFFERENT in the DARK! It really hightens
your senses to just see what's in front of your flashlight. Also, lots of pumpkins and foddershocks went home
with our visitors to decorate with for fall. There is a great selection of items and your purchases will help the FFA chapters
at East and West Carter as well as the Fair Board with their projects. We hope you will stop by on Saturday or Sunday and
see for yourself. The average time through the maze seems to be around 45 minutes. Some make it a little faster, some
take their time -- it just varies. All have described the challenge level as "just right."
