Here come the holidays!Fair Board to assist with Grayson Christmas Tree
The
search is on for a big old spruce tree (or another full fir of some sort) to serve as the Grayson Christmas Tree. You'll
recall that some of those trees in the past were whoppers! "Bruce the Spruce" shown in the photos was nearly 35
feet in height. While a tree doesn't have to be that big -- this is one time when size DOES matter. If
you have a fir tree that has outgrown your yard or have one on your farm that would be perfect -- we would like to give it
a new purpose and make it the centerpiece of downtown activities for the holidays. Give Jill a call at 606-474-7263 with the
details about the location and size and such. Now, that tree you call about... it actually needs to belong to you. No fair
offering up trees that belong to other folk. Santa Claus would never approve of such behavior.

First corn maze is a successPut the Corn Maze in the record books
What an amazing
season at the fairgrounds! Great festivals, super fairs, spectacular fireworks and then -- the big bad corn maze. The final
visitors made their way through the maze at around 11:00 pm on Nov. 1st. That marked the last of the Haunted Maze and after
a few hours of sleep -- the FFA and Fair Board was back on the grounds cleaning up and gathering up all the materials that
were used for this seven-week project. All in all, the maze was a great success. Literally thousands of people toured
the field and enjoyed the great family-oriented fun in a beautiful fall setting. If you were one of them, we hope you signed
our "guest book" that was at the ticket counter and that you left us a comment or two about your maze experience.
Maybe you were a brave soul who ventured through on the Haunted Nights and would like to make a suggestion or leave a compliment. We need feedback! Take the Corn Maze poll... If you will
look to the column at the left, you will get the chance to rate different parts of the project for the organizers. We learned
a lot from our first season in the maze, pumpklin and spooky maze business and if we choose to build another maze, you can
bet we'll make it even better. Please, share your thoughts with us. Thanks in advance for your help!
