First corn maze is a successPut the Corn Maze in the record books
What an amazing
season at the fairgrounds! Great festivals, super fairs, spectacular fireworks and then -- the big bad corn maze. The final
visitors made their way through the maze at around 11:00 pm on Nov. 1st. That marked the last of the Haunted Maze and after
a few hours of sleep -- the FFA and Fair Board was back on the grounds cleaning up and gathering up all the materials that
were used for this seven-week project. All in all, the maze was a great success. Literally thousands of people toured
the field and enjoyed the great family-oriented fun in a beautiful fall setting. If you were one of them, we hope you signed
our "guest book" that was at the ticket counter and that you left us a comment or two about your maze experience.
Maybe you were a brave soul who ventured through on the Haunted Nights and would like to make a suggestion or leave a compliment. We need feedback! Take the Corn Maze poll... If you will
look to the column at the left, you will get the chance to rate different parts of the project for the organizers. We learned
a lot from our first season in the maze, pumpklin and spooky maze business and if we choose to build another maze, you can
bet we'll make it even better. Please, share your thoughts with us. Thanks in advance for your help!

Friday, Saturday last days of maze
This shot of the maze was taken back in August. Since then, the corn is
much taller and all the paths have been cut through the rows. Look at I-64 to the right of the maze... you can see just how
big a project this was to undertake. The letters that say "Carter County" are 40 feet tall! This is it, folks. The final two days of the maze. This marks a change from our normal schedule -- we'll be open
on Friday night for the Halloween Haunted Maze. It is October 31st, after all, what better time for the maze to come alive
and gobble up unsuspecting adventurers? Now, about that Haunted
Maze... That's right, the final two days of the maze (Oct. 31, Friday night, and Nov. 1, Saturday night) will feature haunted,
creepy, goulish, scary stuff designed to give you a good fright in the spirit of Halloween fun. Some features will be pretty
intense, so Moms and Dads be warned: the Haunted Maze isn't recommended for children 10 and younger. The cost for the
haunted maze is $7.50. And, while we'll be open at 6 pm, the real fun begins after dark -- closer to 7 pm. Read more about
it on the Maze schedule.
